Official announcement of the meeting in the Vatican of His Most Reverend Highness Giovanni Luca Prince Abbot

Rome, June 24, 2024

On Monday, June 24, Prince Abbot Archbishop of Sabourg Giovanni Luca traveled to Rome to accept the invitation of the President of the Confraternity of St. Michael the Archangel and the Holy Spirit of the Corridors of Borgo.
At 6 p.m., Giovanni Luca participated, in his capacity as Prince-Abbot Archbishop of Sabourg and Metropolitan Substitute Vicar General of the Orthodox Church in Italy, in the Solemn Mass for Peace in the World under the Protection of Our Lady of Debtors, at the Church of Santa Maria Annunziata in Borgo, in Vatican territory.
Seated alongside the Prince of Sabourg in the seats reserved for the authorities, next to the celebrant, were the members of the delegation that accompanied him on his visit. This delegation consisted of the Prime Minister of the Principality of Sabourg, His Excellency Marc Vincent Vattier, Exarch of the Gallican Church of France, Prof. Luigi Battistini, Grand Commander of the Equestrian Order of St. Martin the Charitable, and the Director General of the Land Division of the Abbatial Gendarmerie, Gen. Pietro Cassaro.
Giovanni Luca del Sabourg spoke very positively about the event held at the Vatican,
stating: “This is an important event for the Principality. It confirms the legitimacy of Sabourg and my ecclesiastical role, which is too often criticized by people who are misinformed and unwilling to accept the presence of our institution in its historic seat of Seborga.”
In addition, Prince Giovanni Luca expressed his particular gratitude to Dr. Gilberto Di Benedetto for his work as custodian of the icon of Our Lady of Debtors.
